At Metro Dance Academy, we believe in nurturing talent, fostering creativity, and providing a platform for dancers to thrive. Our competitive teams, made up of Company and Crew, compete in several competitions throughout the Northwest each year. Our talented group of dancers are dedicated to perfecting their routines and improving their artistry and performance skills.

2026-27 COMPETITION TEAM AUDITIONS
Is your child ready to take their passion for dance to the next level? We are thrilled to announce auditions for Metro Dance Academy’s competition team, and we want YOUR talented dancer to join us!

What Are Company and Crew?
We have two competitive teams at Metro Dance Academy: Company and Crew.
COMPANY:
Company is a special audition group within Metro Dance Academy. Company dancers attend five dance competitions and conventions within the Pacific Northwest and are cast in multiple routines across various dance styles.
CREW:
Crew is a group created for dancers interested in learning more about the competitive dance world. Crew dancers compete at two competitions per season and are not required to attend conventions.
Who Can Audition?
Dancers aged 5-18. Whether your child is just starting out or already a seasoned performer, we encourage everyone to audition for this incredible opportunity!
When and Where?
Date: Saturday, June 20th
Location: Metro Dance Academy, Studio 1
Time: (audition times based on age as of January 1, 2027)
Age 5-8: 9-10am
Age 9-12: 10am-12:30pm
Age 13+: 1-3pm
*Dancers may be asked to audition at a different time slot based on level
Attire:
All black leotard/top with black spandex shorts. Hair pulled fully back in a bun or ponytail. Please wear pirouettes or jazz shoes and bring sneakers.
What to Expect:
Dancers participate in a group warm-up, across the floor technique, and learn short combos to perform in small groups.
PRE-AUDITION WORKSHOPS:
When and Where?
Date: Friday, May 29th
Location: Metro Dance Academy, Studio 1
Time: (workshop times based on age as of January 1, 2027)
Age 5-8 - 4:00-5:00pm ($25)
Age 9-12 - 5:00-6:30pm ($30)
Age 13+ - 6:30-8:00pm ($30)
Attire:
Fitted dance attire that you would wear to a jazz class. Hair pulled fully back in a bun or ponytail. Please wear pirouettes or jazz shoes and bring sneakers.
What to Expect:
Dancers should come ready to do a quick warm up, participate in across the floor technique, and learn short combos to perform in small groups.
NEW PARENT MEETING:
Date: Friday, May 29th
Location: Metro Dance Academy, Studio 2
Time: 5:00-6:00pm
Parents/guardians that are NEW to our competitive program must attend this meeting. We will be going over the entire Company schedule for the year, announcing our competition dates, going over basic budget, and answering parent questions. This is a very important night to attend as we will be sharing lots of information for our season.
