Celebrate the holiday season with Metro Dance Academy at our annual Snowflakes Winter Dance Showcase! Join us on Saturday, December 19th at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM at Lake Oswego High School Auditorium. We are pleased to feature “Scenes from the Nutcracker”, performed by our ballet dancers, again this year. Family and friends are invited to watch your dancer experience the magic of performing on stage!

List of performing classes and which show classes will perform in will be available soon!

Tickets: On Sale Thursday, November 19th at 12 PM

  • Tickets may be purchased online only via TutuTix

  • Reserved seating, select your seats at the time of purchase

  • Separate tickets required for 11AM and 2PM shows

Pricing:

  • Adult: $18

  • Child Age 3+: $12

  • Under 3: Free (sitting on lap)

Opt-Out:

If your dancer is unable to perform in the show, please opt-out by the November 19th deadline, or as soon as possible so instructors can plan routines accordingly. We encourage all dancers to participate and experience the performance side of dance!

  • Parking will be available in both the front and rear lots and overflow parking will be available at Lake Oswego Junior High School located across the street

  • You may enter through the front or rear entrance doors to enter the main lobby.

Arrival & Dancer Instructions:

  • All Company/Crew Dancer Check-In: 9:00 AM - all Company/Crew dancers will remain backstage between shows

  • All Nutcracker Ballet Dancer Check-In: 9:30 AM - all Nutcracker ballet dancers will remain backstage between shows

  • All Rec Dancer Check-In: 10:00 AM for 11:00 AM performance and 1:00 PM for 2:00 PM performance - list of classes performing

  • Please plan to arrive to the venue on time with your dancer ready in full costume, hair and makeup

  • Dancers must be checked in and out by a parent/guardian and will be escorted to and from the backstage area by a Metro Dance Academy staff member or volunteer.

  • For the safety of our dancers, parents/guardians WILL NOT be allowed in any of the backstage areas unless you are a registered volunteer

Nutcracker Ballet Costumes:

As we continue to grow our Nutcracker performance, we are excited to announce that all Nutcracker ballet routines will have beautiful, professional costumes this year!

  • Metro will be purchasing all Nutcracker costumes to be used in our show year after year

  • You will not be responsible for purchasing Nutcracker costumes

  • All performing ballet dancers will be charged a one-time $20 per costume rental fee

  • All Nutcracker costumes are property of Metro Dance Academy and must be returned at the conclusion of the show (more information on costume return process coming soon)

  • Details on costume sizing, take-home instructions and more coming soon

Other Routine Costumes:

Each class will receive a unique Costume Detail Sheet, which will include information and clickable links for all required costumes, shoes, accessories, as well as hair and makeup requirements. Please note that you will be responsible for ordering any Amazon costumes and accessories listed for your routine. Many routine costumes include items you may already have at home. If any costumes or accessories will be purchased directly by Metro, a separate communication will be sent to those classes with instructions.

In-Class Dress Rehearsals: December 14-18, 2026

Please have your dancer wear their costume, shoes, accessories, hair and optional makeup to class. Dancers will be practicing their routine in costume and parents/guardians may be invited into the studio to take a video.  

On-Stage Nutcracker Ballet Dress Rehearsal: December 19th at 9:45 AM

All dancers performing in the Nutcracker will be required to attend our on-stage dress rehearsal before the first show on December 19th. All ballet dancers must check-in at 9:30 AM in full costume, hair and makeup and be ready to rehearse on stage beginning at 9:45 AM. (Company/Crew dancers check-in at 9:00 AM)
